How the Condition of Society Against Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis, a name that gives the condition related to “porous bone“, is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as decreased bone mineral density, making its fragility and inadequate mechanical support function. This disease is a serious public health problem, affecting one in three women and one in eight men after age 50.

Unlike other ailments “silent”, this results in high costs to the health sector since, according to data from the National Center for Gender Equity and Reproductive Health, in a year is $ 730 million required to meet the 36 thousand 500 fractures femur that occur as a result, coupled with a cost of 15 thousand dollars on average that are intended to restore the bones of each person.
