What is Osteoporosis?

To enjoy a better quality of life … should avoid or prevent osteoporosis, a disease that causes your bones to become fragile as crystal. Follow the advice of the Hispanic Foundation of Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Diseases:

1. Enjoy a varied diet. Rich in calcium and vitamin D throughout life, although you should increase to 1,500 mg per day (4 glasses of milk, 2 yoghurt or slice of cheese) the amount of calcium after menopause.
2. Get physical exercise regularly. Physical activity for only 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week, increase bone mineral content.
3. Try to keep a healthy lifestyle. Avoid excessive alcohol and coffee, not smoke and take the sun gently to increase vitamin D.
