Besides being rich and having a very sweet, pumpkin has some qualities that are important to our health.

The main component of the pumpkin is water, which, coupled with their low carbohydrate content and its almost negligible amount of fat, makes it a food with low caloric intake.

It is a good source of fiber which provides satiety value and improves intestinal transit by the high presence of mucilage. These are a type of soluble fiber that has the ability to soothe the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract.
