How the Condition of Society Against Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis, a name that gives the condition related to “porous bone“, is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as decreased bone mineral density, making its fragility and inadequate mechanical support function. This disease is a serious public health problem, affecting one in three women and one in eight men after age 50.

In Mexico, 5.4 million women suffer from osteoporosis diagnosed, according to the Ministry of Health and INEGI, however the number may be much higher since it is known that osteoporosis is underdiagnosed in all countries of the world, so that awareness about the disease and the better availability of diagnostic methods for the next five years that number will increase so signicant (over one million 200 thousand new cases at least.
